Well, that makes me feel a lot better. I never even knew apartment inspectors take pictures sometimes.


How odd. Is it typical of places to take photos like that? Like when they're still occupied, I mean. We just signed for another year, too, so the pictures wouldn't be worth much unless they're using it to "generally" advertise the layout.

I don't rent (and haven't for many years) - but from what I can see, online - it's either for sale or for insurance/mortgage changes.

The insurance adjuster will reassess the policy every few years and take photos to show that there are no safety issues. The lender can basically request a visual tour of the property anytime - but typically once every 5 years or so. If the owner of the complex is refinancing the loan the lender will definately do an inspection to be sure there's no obvious changes that have occurred since the original loan. He's looking to be sure that the owner is maintaining the property.
