Random question: Why is your income so important to researchers? I've taken a bazillion surveys. Most ask for gender, race, age, etc. Some don't. But they always always (always!) ask about your income. WHY?

I think poor people think about some things differently than middle or rich people.

Income level can have a lot of affect on many different things. If you are struggling to pay bills, you may be more stressed, as one example.

They are looking for key demographics. People that are in a certain income bracket have different spending habits

I think poor people think about some things differently than middle or rich people.
I don't know how different the mental capacities are, but I do know the old saying "It is expensive to be poor" is very true.

Example, a rich man pays $100 for a pair of shoes and they last 10+ years. A poor man pays $10 for a pay of shoes and has to replace them every few months.

I always think of this when I shop at Costco. I can afford to buy a larger quantity of a product and get a lower price, but people who struggle to make ends meet have to pay full price.

Socioeconomic status (i.e. income) is is predictive of other key demographics and is important to researchers. For example, economic status is more highly correlated with health inequality than most other factors.

Is there not a way to make hit finder notify you when it finds a new hit? Or am I missing something?
Aside from the sound option

I didn't necessarily mean the mental capacities, I just think different things matter more or less across the lines.

I just got my Coutifaris, Constantinos rejection. I was not nice.
I expect a reversal of this rejection at the very least. Rejections can be problematic and can lead to expulsion from mTurk if one accrues too many. Please reverse this as soon as possible.

He replied immediately:
Apologies - I have asked Amazon to reverse your rejection and you will be getting paid assuming you completed the faulty survey. Sorry for the miscommunication. Please bear with me as I sort this out. I fully intend to reverse this and pay the fee that you rightfully earned.

Sounds plausible... thank you!
