So I need to vent about this shit on mturk that I've run into more than few times now and it really is pissing me off. Some of the requesters are using this software or whatever that if you open the hit in a page and then open it elsewhere, it IP blocks you, even if you HAVEN'T done the hit. I ran into this the other day where Chrome loaded a BLANK page for a hit. Not thinking anything of it, I ran it up in Firefox and it tells me that i took it already and yadda yadda. Knowing full well thats bs, i open it back in Chrome, and wouldnt you know, same IP shit. Irritated now i fire off an email saying, uh look, your hit didnt load in Chrome, i jumped to FF and then it tells me i am blocked? I never even got to start on it cause it didnt work in Chrome. This is the half assed reply I get....

The blank page on Chrome is known to stem from leaving Adblock software enabled. After viewing the HIT, you were recorded in our database and unfortunately blacklisted from taking it again on a different browser to prevent multiple entries.
If the HIT never loaded for you in the first place, unfortunately we can't provide compensation for your time spent taking this research study.

First, I didnt ask for money, I wanted them to know this is a fairly large issue if you are getting blocked for simply opening the page elsewhere. What if you panda the hit? What if your browser crashes? You accidentally close the page? FFS this is insane to have a hit set up this way. There are SO many things that could happen and just block you right away. SECOND and the one that gets me the most....if my adblock is tripping on YOUR hit....what does that say? I dont have my adblock set very high, just the normal junk ads. So...yeah... /endrant
