What is the meaning of Cleveland Guardians? That's the new name of the MLB team starting in 2022 but I don't understand why that nickname. Spiders would have made more sense.

Sounds similar to "Indians" and it is based off of the "Guardians of Traffic" statues on the Hope Memorial Bridge.
