I used to row a bit when I was a teenager (a scull) - and would love to do that again, too. Maybe this is a first step .

I was about 20 minutes from New Albany, in Corydon/Palmyra if you know those. Meth central, apparently.

My family lives in New Albany, in fact we are going to visit there next month. But I think most of Indiana is meth central, at least up where I live.

It's not THAT bad, depends on where you are.

Yep, my hour-long commute often sees fields of sunflowers in the late summer and virtually no traffic. And sometimes I laugh and laugh when I look at how much I don't have to pay for my mortgage and taxes. Then, I go into town and I'm like "oh yeah, that's why it's cheap here."

The balance is - I think it requires a bit more practice (but just a bit more
and (of course) you can go much faster because you are using both oars -
I don't think I'd row in a lake with gators, though. Not with a scull.
I'm pretty cautious about them (I didn't even like swimming in lakes with them - you know, those FL lakes where everyone swears it is safe and that old gator just stays on the other side.......)
