I'm not aware of any compensation HIT instructions, but it's not really any different from any other type of HIT. The best way to go about it IMO is for them to assign you your own qual, then they just post a HIT that requires that qual for whatever they owe you.

For a gift card, they would need to ask for your email address, I believe, which violates the Participation Agreement. Whether or not you want to do that is up to you.

I'm wondering what it means.

It usually means it's a broken or expired hit. In that case, just return it and accept the next one. OR, you returned a good hit and then you have to wait an hour before it lets you accept another.

Edit: If you are trying to do them now, I am certain those that are left are expired now
