So, was this the last Survey Comet? I know it says it ends July 29 but the newsletter when I opened the hit was dated Wednesday, July 29 and mine said 0 surveys left this half of the session - 16 completed.

Yeah, it was kind of a stumbled upon HIT for me because it was brand new in early 2018 when it started. The qual HITs come up once in a while for those SurveyComet tasks. SC expects 2 hours of analysis for $16, so it's nicer more for its regularity than as a great HIT in general. I usually give it less than 80 minutes of my time, so what it pays per hour may vary.
