good morning all. my cat only shows up when she is hungry.

Any cat owners on right now? How do you work when your cat is constantly in your lap,on your hands, or on your shoulders? She usually doesn't do this stuff. Been going on for two weeks now.

Catnip on a towel on the floor next to me, fill the bird feeders outside the front door often and go plop the cat in front of the windows to watch it, treats as distractions, other toys as distractions, Paul Dining's bird videos on youtube on the TV in the living room...and they still sit in my lap a good 25% of the day. I use them as arm rests until they get tired of it.

What are your recommendations for a cat who likes to yell at random things/doors/corners of rooms?

I'd say "just don't ever respond and they'll eventually learn it gets them nowhere" but some cats are just talkative. One of mine likes to hear his own voice so much he'll scream when he has a toy in his mouth, when he's in the litter box, when he sees a wall, etc. Now I just talk back. He has a lot to say about the economy.
