And as @jklmnop says "Always be qualing". Quals will get you more pay even on slow days. Many need 5k hits to get so that is a great goal to start.

Question for all you smart college people. The FAFSA is being changed to where we can fill it out in October each year instead of waiting until January. From what I hear that change takes effect this year. Would this mean we the students would receive aid by the winter semester? I just started in May, so that's obviously when I first got aid, but since I'm a current student that would mean we get the aid sooner, instead of having to wait until the summer, yes?

each fafsa is for the next academic year, so no. the aid would be applicable for the following school year (so if you do a fafsa in october 2016 it will apply for year 2017-2018)

I'm entirely unsure. I think this is a change to give us more time to fill it out, not receive aid sooner.
