I'll do you one better - the smell of the ink!

I loved my summer internship job the summer between high school junior and senior years. I was a purchasing dept. intern for the local newspaper. Our warehouse was separated by a wall from the printing press so the warehouse was filled with the great smell of ink solvent wafting from the printing press room or from the stack of right off the press newspapers that just went through the bundling machine and snaked by conveyor belt to the loading docks to be put on distribution trucks.

Nowdays as a customer, if I get my paper early enough in the morning, I can still smell some of the ink but more often than not the papers sit in my paper carrier's driveway long enough that the ink smell goes away by the time the carrier bands/bags it and gets to my house.
