so, does anyone more travel savvy than I want to weigh in (anyone here?
I'm trying to get a cheap flight out west. I know the search engines to use. But do people then call the carrier directly or book through (for instance) google flights.

I book my dad's flights directly on the airline website after checking a few travel sites and a few airlines looking for a good fare.

I don't think I'd call them as they might charge extra for over-the-phone booking.
