i'll see if i can get it. i'm darn near willing to go to a bunch of penny hits the way this day has gone so far. instead i'm gonna take a break and see if any of the hits on my catcher get snared. back in a bit y'all.

1) Anyone use a program like turkmaster to catch all hits above a certain amount?
2) Wondering what, if any, benefit there is to using hit catcher over pandacrazy?
3) What do you set your Hitfinder to (in ms) when also running PC or HC? I've only been able to do 2100 without getting crazy pres.

I've never used PC, so I can't really compare/contrast with HIT Catcher.

However, here's my responses to your questions.

1. I used Turkmaster for my first year Turking and I find that I can have HIT Finder function in pretty much a similar fashion but HF is faaaaaar more effective since it does a better job tracking HITs that pop-up and then vanish instantly, making it way easier to make Pandas (or Watchers as they're called in HIT Catcher) to catch stuff that is returned or re-posted later.

2. Since HIT Catcher is integrated as part of MTS, it does a good job at avoiding PREs when running along side HIT Finder. As long as my refresh rate is set at 1 second or higher for both HF and HC, then HF will automatically balance its refresh rate based on the number of Watchers I have active, and the Watchers also slow down their frequency automatically as more are added. This allows me to avoid PREs. Of course running more than 2 or 3 Watchers give the same result as having 2 or 3 running simultaneously in Turkmaster... Your overall refresh rate decreases and you catch fewer HITs.

3. I have HIT Finder set at 1100ms and HIT Catcher set to 1000ms, and I get no No PREs. I typically run only 1 Watcher while HF is active & refreshing. I'll turn-off HF and activate 2-3 Watchers if there are some HITs that I want to try to catch when they're likely expiring from peoples' queues an hour or so after they first drop.

I wish I could have HIT Finder filter based on just the 'Fairness' category of TO. I still find the Fairness rating to be the most useful discriminator of whether or not I'm going to want to do a HIT. However, if that's something I really want out of MTS then it's on me to figure out how to modify the code of MTS accordingly.

Anyway, I'm sure that @Kadauchi knows it's impossible to please everybody, and MTS captures so much useful functionality that I'll never complain about it. I think many in the Turking community cannot thank him enough for MTS and how it enables them to have a chance at making money.

fairness... I get what you're saying - I do feel better when I have more greens done than oranges/reds
but many of the judgements that color those TOs are opinions.
the most useful aspect of that, I think, are for pointing out dishonest requesters, with whom I've had my share of incidents

No not yet. I went to do some cleaning up and turned it all off. And forgot to thank you just for helping with the info. Just turned the panda back on. Hopefully I will catch some. PE is $5.74 and feel like I have been sitting at the computer all day. UGG!
