I live in the SF bay area. It's not cheap here, either. My rent is cheap because I'm not renting from people I didn't already know.

I'm fairly certain that the extremely low price we pay for this apartment is half of the reason that the boyfriend stays without complaint. It doesn't matter in the end, but it is a matter of concern for me. I believe he loves me, but what's the difference between 2300 dollars and 700 dollars?

Well you see.. Around here $700 gets you a studio that you hopefully won't get mugged when you leave and $2300 gets you a have decent place in a middle class neighborhood.

Even the people who live in poverty live large here. I couldn't imagine living somewhere like Memphis. Can't argue with a buck fifty gas either. Only complaint is there isn't much to do here and the majority of the community is in their 70s. The town goes to sleep at 8.
