Thanks man. That makes me feel a little better. I feel like I'm only ~2-3 months into seriously putting effort in.
Part of the problem is trying to learn all kinds of scripts and stuff, along with learning mturk. Learn mturk, by itself with minimal scripts(just the necessary ones), and you'll have a foundation to build on. Otherwise, it's like trying to put together Ikea with no instructions. Too many parts that aren't required to start.

Hey quick question... when would you say the "beginning" ends generally? Obviously it's different for everyone, and I'm a slow learner when it comes to scripts so I assume I'll always be trying to figure things out, but uhh... what would be the point that you would tell someone to hurry it up if they were still bumbling?
I think it is an impossible question to answer. How can you put a time frame on something with so many variables? How many hits have they completed, and how many of those are from various requesters? How much time, has the person been turking for 2 years with no tools in their routine (some have), is this person tech savvy and up to date on all the jargon and lingo. it really is an individual case measurement IMO, and even those in the know can find out something and learn something new from time to time.

It took me months (maybe 3 or 4) to figure out how scripts worked best for me, to get into some kind of routine...but I only could do maybe 6 hours a week in the beginning. And now I'm starting a new routine/schedule - officially next week so...hmmmmm. We'll see how this goes. And this week I have hardly made any money turking it's mostly from other stuff. Even my side hustle has a side hustle. But I would like to make some turk money in the next 30 minutes or so here.

Totally depends on how much time you can devote to turking, imho. I do it part time so it takes me a bit longer to become proficient with new things.

And many of us had to relearn a lot of what we relied on when Amazon killed the old Mturk last December and gave us the new one we all see now, so all of us are not too far away from relearning a bunch of stuff!!

That is exactly what it feels like to me! I did spend a lot of time trying to work without the scripts in the beginning (Before I knew they existed) and now I'm kind of just trying to get to 10k and playing with all the scripts and trying to figure them out. But still learning about new stuff on Mturk all the time.

Despairagus @Despairagus

I still suck. It's been 14 months. I'm not full time. But this summer has made me feel like a jackass. I made more money with less effort last summer when I was a newb.

Also I'm essentially a glorified housewife, so I have all the time in the world (40+ hrs a week) to learn this stuff. But, again, I'm really slow when it comes to understanding scripts and the like. TY all for your responses and input. I'll keep plugging away and make my millions some day.

For those that do SB, swago is going on now. I usually miss those cause I visit so infrequently.

And just like Ikea, a lot of what the instructions "say" are there (Amazon, I'm looking at you!) aren't actually there.

No, there is NO HOLE DRILLED where you show it drilled in this damn picture!!!!

"How do we fit the wooden peg into the non drilled hole?" she asked with tears in her eyes as the pieces of her dresser lay strewn on the apartment floor.

You're doing fine. Just make sure you know why scripts are working, and not just 'that they work'. Then when they stop working, for whatever reason, you'll have alternative methods of achieving your goal.
I say, make sure you know your basics and keep plugging away. Slow and steady wins the race. Even if you only do $40 a day but, do it every day. Then on the days that you would normally be off, on a regular job, you can still make a bit. Best advice I can give anyone is make sure you know this stuff by heart. Then everything else you add will make sense and you'll know why.:)

Also, in your specific case, I think you''re doing just fine.:) I explain things to you and they make sense. That's good enough for me.

This old lady needs to stop staring at the forum and go take tests to renew her broker's license. The tests are a huge fricking waste of time, most of you could pass them easily so they don't really "prove" anyone with a broker's license knows anything, but it's a great way for the state to get hundreds of dollars out of brokers and "show" they're keeping tabs on us.

I just don't want to do the tests. But my license will expire soon if I don't and I kinda need it to do my job, so off to fill out multiple choice questions not only for free, but I had to pay someone to give me access to them. Ugh.

I've gone through those but I think I'll do again. Scripts are DEFINITELY my big prob right now but I'll keep trying to figure it out. Ty <3

Also $40 a day would be delightful on the reg, hah!

NP. I don't use a ton of scripts/extensions. Just what I need to get it done.
