You know what I've realized having not lived in the US for 6 years? So many things are politicized that have no business being politicized. For example, global warming is only a political "debate" in the US.....How it became a Dem vs Rep thing I really don't get. Sure, what to do about it can become political, but not whether it exists or not. All the politicizing really makes things much more super charged and harder to discuss.

It just means it's a phrase with a double meaning. Yes, it is often used for sexual innuendos, but it doesn't have to be.


And I agree that things are over-politicized, and that that makes things difficult to discuss. That's just the unfortunate reality of the world that we live in. My job on this forum isn't to do anything about that, however, but to just keep the peace in this thread and help to keep it on topic. When we shut down political discussion, we only do it to prevent others from getting worked up and starting arguments (and someone always inevitably does.)

This forum provides a thread for that stuff if you'd like to discuss it. If you don't want to use it, that's fine. But I have very little tolerance for it in the work thread because having to break up political arguments is a complete waste of my time.
