My kid got hired for another house sitting job this weekend. We are taking care of 25 big chickens, one little turkey, and 10 or so baby chicks. (Plus two oh so adorably happy doggies.)

We are also wearing flip flops while doing so as there is no way to go into a coop with that many chickens and NOT step in crap. I plan on hosing off the flip flops every time we get home so we don't track chicken poop into our house!

My boss brought store bought cookies into work today.

My coworker and I both ate two.

We have both felt very ill since about an hour after eating them.

It can't be. There is no way cookies made us sick. That's just....wrong. But there's no other explanation!

You might want to set aside a scrub brush for shoe cleaning. My grandpa had a chicken farm for 60 years, he was always cleaning his boots. They're nasty animals.

I love chickens! I spent part of my youth raising them. Not a TON of them, usually only 10-20 at a time, and I did have special boots I wore that I left outside due to their poops.

Since this is just for a weekend, we'll just wear flips and I'll hose them down.
