It used to be two free downloads But one is still good.

ah, yeah, if you wiped it and it failed/sucks on reinstall that's not usually a good sign

don't pay anyone shit though, its literally a few screws and a pull tab, you can youtube that and save yourself a wad of cash. If you don't have an install disc, you can make a backup on a cheap thumb drive pretty easily to get a base OSX install going

externals are nice to have around though, too, so its not like its sunk cost

i'm super glad the external is running seamlessly.

I don't have any urgent need to go away from the external, so for the meanwhile. this works.
