mturk doesn't provide the wages, they provide the platform on which the tasks are available.
you, as the worker, accept the jobs for the payments listed. or you don't do the work.

if everything were perfect, the more difficult the task is for the wage, the less people would do them, and their wage might be increased, even if that means less posted contracted positions - by the requester, not by mturk.

Amazon treats their actual employees, the ones that work in warehouses, like potential thieves who are robots undeserving of breaks, cooling off during Summer, or any sorts of benefits.
