I remember Led Zeppelin III had that wheel you could spin around to reveal the different pictures.only a few here will remember this.
but remember back in the 70s early 80s when you would go to the record store like a Grapevine or a Stax records or any mom n pop store that sold records, and you would try to make a decision on which one to get because you only had enough money to get just one
Then you would go home and tear the plastic wrap off< or not, some would leave it on and just tear the edge off as to save the album cover from getting crap all over it.
Then take the vinyl out and place that bad boy on your player, and jam away.
Then sometimes you would get an extra treat like a poster that was folded inside the album cover or a nice booklet with great concert photos of the band, or an album cover that you could open up and the inside would have a pop up design, the best one I saw of this kind was ELO's Out Of The Blue which was a spaceship.
and the best booklets I had were the ones from Kiss Alive and Kiss Alive II
Journey's Captured had a nice booklet and poster, and the most surprise poster I got in an album was one of DLR from the Van Halen Women and children first album.
long post but I was just reminiscing
I mean, what's vinyl?
