Yeah C-SATs aren't terrific pay, but the only issue I've really ever had with them has been the timer.

I don't understand why they made the comments optional. How can they verify if someone watched the video, if they don't leave comments about what happens in the video.

I liked the comments. It kept me more engaged. Plus, proof I was watching. I usually had multiple videos going at once so it was worth my time, and then took notes.

I think there can be a medium put in place. Have the higher paying HITs have some required form of question, or spot check to where some of the HITs in a batch have a requirement, some not, etc.

Which is one of the reasons I had an issue with the timer. I get they want a wide variety of opinions, but that doesn't mean sell those who focus a lot of their Mturk time on C-SATs short. I think an hour minimum, but more like 90 min.

I can't do them one at a time or I get distracted. With two and taking notes, I pay a lot more attention. I take time notes, then go back to specific parts to review. Especially when they actually let me make comments.
