Well franks are pretty decent... If someone does 2000 of them they will make $500 + $200 bonus.. .. the problem is having the willpower to do that many of them.

@MomOfMaximus is bad (actually it is pretty damn good) it is just what I have noticed.
I have a few clients in a couple niche markets I mainly do custom work for. I have a rather large one I'm supposed to get done by Christmas. It's 6'x10'.It isn't about skill, it is just about making people desire your products.
I see some meh fan artist make decent commissions because they are in a tiny community that people REALLY want fan art for.

Some are harder than others. This is very true. One I did before was really bad. The ceiling was crooked, so my mock up and level were about 8 inches off, and the design had to be re-worked.
