I've realized that I'm not going to make >$50/day with this laptop and its low memory. So I'm either going to get a new laptop or add more RAM. What's the minimum amount of RAM I should look for to efficiently run several scripts and pandas? 8GB? 16?

You are less limited by ram and more limited by monitor space. You could prob run mturk fine on 2gb of ram with linux.

go to http://www.crucial.com/

They have a tool that will analyze your computer and tell you what RAM you have and if you can expand it. Then you can either just buy it there or try from ebay, amazon, etc. I've used Crucial for over 15 years now and never had a problem.

Yes, but if you have more monitor space, you'll have more stuff open to take up that space, which uses more ram.

That wouldn't really be an issue if you are not running windows.
