Metal straws are fine. They just can't be used with hot stuff and aren't easily moved. Ideally, there would be reusable straws of all types to account for different needs instead of this blanket plastic straw hate.

Is SPAM still a thing? My local State Fair got rid of the SPAM cooking contest this year because Hormel pulled their sponsorship of the contest at mine and other state fairs around the country, citing declining participation in the contests.

No, but I just Googled it. I didn't expect it to be literal pasta. I'm a little skeptical of the idea, but it's original I guess.

Metal straws are fine. They just can't be used with hot stuff and aren't easily moved. Ideally, there would be reusable straws of all types to account for different needs instead of this blanket plastic straw hate.

Imo the easiest solution for anyone that's concerned about it is to just not use straws. No adult should need one outside of a car anyway. 0 pollution, 0 cost, 0 effort.

Honestly, personally, I can't remember the last time I used a straw. I always take off the lid on takeaway cups and drink.
