Massachusets where I live minimum wage is $11.00. I have friends in the next state over New Hampshire the minimum wage is $7.25. So I have a set of friends who work the same exact fast food or retail job make about $3.75 an hour more than the friends that live 20 minutes closer to the stateline. Location does seem to make a difference in some cases. My NH friends all want to move to Massachusetts. lol.

I'm not a politically inclined person (I don't follow politics and am not a party of any political party) but in my mind, if you increased minimum wage wouldn't the prices of everything increase like the cost of living, groceries, and so on, thus balancing everything out to close to where it was before the wage increase?

I know if I was a business owner and they jacked up minimum wage to $15 I'd cut how many workers that I have and would jack the prices up of everything to match the increase in minimum wage.

New York is a huge state so it depends where you live. If you live in the city, you need to live with roomates or have a large trust fund in your name. If you live in upstate NY, houses and apartments are incredibly cheap so you could live like a king on 15 an hour but you have to deal with rednecks and small town crazy people. If you live on long island, thats kind of the middle ground where a $15 wage will help the most. You could afford to live roommate free in an apartment on long island for that wage.

surprisingly, West Virginia has a similar free college program called the Promise Scholarship. it's good for any WV public college and you need a 3.0 or higher in high school to qualify.

Yep. Most times actually cheaper in Massachusetts, especially the coffee. I usually pay a buck for coffee in Mass,while a few days ago I went over the border to NH, and they were charging $1.50 for the same coffee. I said what? They are getting ripped off and don't know it sadly.
