I've done tons of HITs with them. Like most requesters, they're hit or miss. Some are good, some not so good, like the one quoted. That said, they are accurate about their descriptions so, I never felt as if they 'pulled a fast one'. Also, this is just my opinion, like everything else that comes out of my virtual mouth.

I had an issue on one, about a month ago. A court case. He gave me half credit, and his answers were scatter brained responses. He reminded me of Doc Brown from Back to the Future. I cut my losses and moved on.

I don't do any of his longer studies but, the 5-7min ones carry a bit less risk and are paid almost fairly. Anyway, sorry that happened but, at least you got some credit. That's more than most requesters would offer. It could have been worse. They could have ignored you completely after rejecting. That's what most requester do, if they're shady. But, I hear where you're coming from.

I usually just steer clear since if they didn't set demographics they'll get plenty of what they're not looking for and I don't need to pile on

I was wondering the same thing since both x husbands were immigrants, one Persian, one whose parents came here from England. Once when I first started someone put up a survey asking for people who had been married to immigrants to do the survey. I emailed the requester with my info asking is I'd qual and he replied back saying absolutely, that was what he was looking for. That's the only survey in the years doing this that was specific and actually good in getting this sort of info that I've ever seen.

Could be. That's how I'm reading it. Why would they even have the "or" statement if it wasn't important? That said, I'm probably not going to do it because I don't want to but, I guess I'd feel okay about it if I did do it. I agree, though. Loose requirements lead to garbage data.

My sense is that they want immigrants, but they don't think they'll get enough participants for a robust n. So, they added the or. (???)
