It was so sketchy. Literally a guy with a salon chair and a pair of scissors in a bare room with posters from hair product brands circa 1990 and no door who spoke no English at all. I wish I'd asked for a picture. I think it's cute? I can't tell if it's exactly even, but whatever.

You are so brave. I won't even branch out stylists within the US anymore.

I had my hair highlighted and cut in China over a decade ago but they didn't do it at all how I'd asked. It was kind of orange or something? I rocked it, though. They didn't really know how to work with western hair and spoke some regional dialect my dad couldn't understand well.

I've never been picky about my hair since I grew up with my mom always cutting it. She still usually does. I've been to an actual salon maybe 3 times in my life. I got my hair cut once in Mexico, but that was at a resort salon so it was slightly more legit than this guy in Guatemala. There's a picture of the new hair on my Instagram.
