He posted the qual hit a few days ago. These are the qualled ones, he just forgets to take out the words "qualification" sometimes.

Anyone have any experience with external hard drives? Im having an issue.

I switched the room my computer is in several weeks ago and since then the hard drive has been taking forever to spin up and show me the files. Its never done that before. Also now sometimes it just starts spinning and doesn't stop...but i cant access the files...even after waiting several minutes. My only option to get it to stop is to unplug the USB from my computer.

Also whenever i reboot my computer and the hard drive is plugged in...it causes my computer to hang on the boot up screen and wont proceed until i unplug the USB cable.

This all started when i moved to the new room...worked fine before then and it was never dropped and basically only travelled about 50 feet. The only possible problem i can think it could be is that when i unplugged everything...i may have grabbed a different power supply then the one that originally came with my hard drive...it still fits and everything...so im not sure if that even really matters since it fits.

That totally matters, actually. You can buy ones with different adapters for plugs and voltage selectors, though.

So its possible that its just not getting enough power from the one its plugged into now? Would that cause the freezing issues and such?

Yeah, electronics can be fussy like that. Don't risk frying something or w/e, hold off til you can get the right one. Mainly the different voltage is what you need to watch out for.
