Hey all, 2nd day on the turk here. So far the links either have nothing in the group for me, or I'm not qualified.

Where is the "numbers thread" the First 1000 article mentions? I can't seem to find it, and I clearly need to get my numbers up.

will be your best friend during your first 10 days...you'll cap each day and they are 0.05 instead of 0.01. They take about 10 secs and they have never rejected and ive done around 40,000 of them since i started turking and my girlfriend who started turking passively a couple months ago has done close to 3,000 and never rejected.

I was stupidly doing p9r HITs until I realized that they make a lot of mistakes with their random rejections.

Now I only do them if all they consist of is clicking "blank" or "not blank". I'm not about to spend an hour deciphering chicken scratch for 5 cents.

Don't do them at all and check out that numbers thread posted a few minutes ago.

i THOUGHT i did. lol. I know I set it to "metered connection" so it didn't try to download updates all the time. Some warning would have been nice though, I'd have updated last night before I went to bed.

If you hit the windows button on your keyboard and start typing "services.msc" without the quotes and open the services.msc(Services with a blue gear) application(if that doesnt work, search for Services and select the Services app with the blue gear), search down the list that appears and find Windows Update. Right click on Windows Update----Properties. Look for startup type in middle of page and select disabled from drop down menu. Apply---Ok. Boom no more Windows automatic update bullshit for you. You may manually grab updates by going back in and reenabling this option.
