I apologize if this is a stupid question, but how do you know this is a safe extension. I still pass on a bunch of HITS because I am (probably too) picky about which links I will click and never install or download anything on HITS.

One way of telling is if it's an academic requester. They are often safe.

Afternoon everyone.


Trying to find a couple easy hits before calling it a day as I had been running around since 6am. Picked up some groceries and then went to a training session to work the election. Will be working as a site coordinator at Nationals Park. That will be both exciting and daunting due to it being a super voting center and will process the sheer volume of voters, but at least there will be more workers to process them.

I usually only download an extension if the Requester has a solid history of publishing hits, which means its likely they're legitimate and not out to harm anyone. Another barometer I use is just that if someone else has done the hit and not reported any problems (because something like a virus attached to an extension would generate some feedback, for sure), the odds are that it's safe.
