One writing prompt. I am an under-average survey taker as far as speed goes, so you might be able to do it faster.

Me too. I generally take 10% to 20% longer to do HITs than do others. Just slow I guess. :(

kind of :( I was really expecting to get written up for the gnat problem. They're covering my kitchen but I can't find the source and nothing I've tried has gotten rid of them.
Oh lordy I'm so sorry! Are they gnats or pantry moths? If pantry moths there is a way to get rid of them. But it's no fun and totally sucks.

If it's gnats, they don't really come inside unless you have rotting food somewhere (not a judgement, I keep a compost container on my counter and that can get gnats if I don't empty it fast enough). If there is nothing rotting in your house (like in mine) then it's either sewage, rotting plants outside, or possibly even a pipe leak somewhere making things "rot" and attracting them.

The things I learn being a landlord and working with a pest control company

I just googled pantry moths and I don't think that's what they are. They just look like regular ol' gnats. I've looked for rotting food and can't find any (even pulled out the fridge and stuff to look under them). I've poured bleach down the sink, and vinegar. No luck. The only things that have been halfway effective are fly tape and a water bottle with fruit scraps. A bowl of apple cider vinegar (with and without foil) didn't do crap.

That has to be so frustrating. Do you live in a place that has an outside right outside your walls (e.g., not an upstairs apartment?) or a yard? Because I"m going with a plumbing leak somewhere that is attracting them and they are coming into your unit. Your landlord really should look into that if that's a possibility. (This is knowledge gained from having to deal with it and sending out a pest control company to give advice, then we had to send an industrial cleaning company then a plumber...)

try vinegar and baking soda down the drains. That temp helped with the drain flies at my mom's house. Probably would've worked longer if there wasn't a cracked pipe* somewhere. Also if I'd done it slowly like the instructions said and not just thrown everything in there at once.

*Not to be confused with a crack pipe.

Inquisit type classification questions in a Qualtrics format are awkward with radio buttons.

Yeah, I'm a downstairs outside-wall apartment. My kitchen flooded a couple months ago and the landlord has yet to rip out and replace the mildewing baseboards. Could they be coming because of that?

That's next on my list. I just keep forgetting to get either of those when I go to the store.

Yes. Yes they could. They like rotting things, so if there is something rotting due to that flood/mildew that could be the culprit.

They love raw sewage so....they like gross stuff.

Ugh. I've been hounding her about at least tearing them out and leaving it exposed, I just want them gone. She keeps reassuring me that it'll get done ASAP, but she hasn't had a maintenance man since April, and before that she went through...7? 8? in about 6 months. The pay is NOT worth it. So who knows how long it'll be.
