That's what I thought, but I did not want to assume. I have seen what happens in places like Moraine, like Lordstown, and what happens to the community. To say the least, it is disturbing.

I just accepted a closed qual $1 hit that just said "you can go ahead and submit the hit. You will automatically be compensated". I don't even remember being given that closed qaul but I'm not about to complain about free money

Yes. My community was devasated when GM closed. Still is. Depressed area. I don't want to see this happening to other towns.

GM dealer inventories are ready to fall under the 1.5 month level on cars and 2.0 months on trucks / SUVs. That's the point where motivation for a settlement gets a little higher. So far the effects have been mainly on service parts & assemblies. As someone who works for a parts supplier, I'm cheering for a settlement soon. I grew up in a union town, and I know how hard everyone feels it during a work stoppage.

I wonder if the dealer inventory is even lower than that, considering I think I read the teamsters transportation union said they would be in solidarity with the UAW by refusing to transport finished vehicle supply to dealers during the UAW strike.

Clearly I think GM didn't think negotiations would be difficult as you'd think they'd have started construction on Mexico factories a year ago to be ready to transition from a U.S. strike to Mexico production.
