Our basement has a crawl space that you can get to...........(we also have little feet in the walls). If I let the dog and the cat downstairs - they'd dig a hole to the street .

I'm still thinking about what to do. If they get into the house (upstairs) - well, the cat will take care of it (or the dog). But, IDK.

Humane traps?

I would try humane traps but am so terrified of mice, I have to wait for my son or neighbor to come and remove them. I just use the sticky ones. When my husband was alive, he took care of them.

Yes but I am happy that I have a place to live even with unwelcome guests unlike some of my "neighbors" who get kicked out of the shelters at 5 a.m.

My Granddaughter is allergic unfortunately. Make sure you stay safe inside. I live in an area of Kansas City by homeless shelters and we get that a lot. But we love the location since we are close to downtown.

Oh, sorry. I have one kitty that positions herself in the kitchen every night hunting. Fortunately they haven't left any furry things in my shoes lately but have been known too. The rats and mice are why the neighbors and I are so protective of the feral cat colony we care for. They do tend to earn their keep. Last year it was so bad in my neighbors' next door that the LL did call in an exterminator. But I didn't have much of a problem. There's a poison box sitting outside on my side and I suppose on the other. It looks like it was restocked with whatever is in them recently because I noticed it had been moved and tagged. I see the same things downtown when I take walks.Neighbors had a problem with rats last year but I seldom see the things, once in a while I'll see a mouse, but I think the cats keep them away because I never see evidence where they've been looking to make nests or on the cabinets or anything.
That darn heliocopter is still outside hovering. The city needs drones. maybe they wouldn't be as noticeable. These things remind me of Houston when they would fly everywhere shining lights in folks windows looking for meth labs.

Rats are in our area also but have not seen them. One was in the building 2 years ago but it was quickly taken care of.
