this is the company behind the account...but shouldn't they get the messages we send thru contact on Mturk?

The contact form on MTurk is linked to the email address they use to sign up on MTurk. When they emailed us all the link to the full survey after the initial mistake, I replied to that email address and that bounced. Since the email they sent us came from that address through MTurk, that would have been the same address they used to sign up on MTurk, so anything sent via the contact form would also bounce UNLESS the bounce was a temporary problem with their email and they've now fixed it after my initial attempts yesterday.

I am one of the student researchers working in the HuntLab Team. We recently posted a HIT, but after realizing there was a problem with the completion code, canceled the batch and made plans to fix the issue. Despite canceling the batch, we had every intention of approving the workers who responded to us. Unfortunately, a mass rejection was sent out without our knowledge, and we only learned of the error when workers rightfully emailed us about the mistake. We are working with Amazon support to rectify the situation, and thank everyone affected for their patience. We know you put your time, effort, and honest thought into our survey and our very last intention was to make anyone feel as if they were scammed or taken advantage of.

Thank god no one flew off the handle over a simple rejection that was more than likely caused by an error, which has happened several times in the past.
