I think it's because a lot of them don't really make dummy HITs often. So, they want to make sure they can figure it out before they email. But, by the time they've figured it out, they've also posted it. It's annoying.

I just called Amazon regarding the issue about the transfer payments from Sunday. The lady on the phone just gave me a generic reply that they're currently aware of the issue, and that I was going to be put on a list of some sort(didn't specify further). She said that I should wait a day, and if nothing happens, I should just call back.

This response, by the way, was the exact same response I got yesterday as well.

Has anyone received a more helpful answer?

I'm sure it's affecting a bunch of people. If you push the issue, they will just restate what they've already said and quote their "5-7 day" policy. Sorry. I know it's a bummer.
