Yeah, right now I think of it as a little creepy. However, our child is under a year old. In a few years, I'll probably appreciate the setup.

It is all dependent upon parenting style.

Yeah it does....we never really let the kids in our room when they were younger ( after they moved out of the bassinets) but now they are 7 and 4 y/o twins. They usually don't come in till around 5-5:30 and by then I'm ready for some kid cuddles haha ( trust me one day you'll understand) They are just so out of routine since we have a few people staying with us.

I bet the parents turned the handles around so the kids would stop locking themselves in/parents out on accident (or purpose).
I'm about to with one of the bathrooms. My almost 3 year old locks herself in almost daily and FREAKS out. I keep an open bobby pin nearby to unlock it from the outside but it is annoying.

I assume this is why they are like this. The knobs just have a sliding lock so one couldn't even unlock it from the outside if it weren't already turned around.

We put our children into their own rooms immediately when they came home.
They always slept through the night, and never woke.
I think we got really lucky with two really good babies.

Ah. I wish- Our son didn't sleep through the night till around 9 months ( we moved him into his room around 3 months) - With the twins, they were premature, so we kept them in our room till about 5 months, one slept through the night at 2 months but the little one wanted to but we had to wake her up and give her a night feeding till 5 months old.
