I looked it up, we could trade in my car for a used vehicle (small suv) and have similar payments of what we already pay for another 5 years on that car. I cannot wrap my mind around paying $300/mo on a car I don't even want.

To me, if she were to STORE her vehicle she would have to pay a company to store it. So we are family, we would STORE it for less or in exchange for keeping the oil changed and x amount of miles on it (we wouldn't go anywhere crazy, like maybe 20 miles a week-- we are lame). THAT would be a favor. But US taking HER car is a favor to HER. Not the other way around.

I wouldn't over think it. I would say thanks but no thanks and that's the end of it. You don't need to explain yourself you are a grown up.

I will trade you a van for a baby.
