get up at 5am don't leave your computer. lay in bed while doing the most mind numbing vaccination hit over and over until you fall asleep. rinse and repeat. a lot of it is hard work. a lot of it is masochism. mix in some desperation and being an addict. must hate yourself.@turkinlight please tell me how you managed to get 176 in a day. do you ever worry that you'll get caught turking?well I'm at 1.85 PE for the day. Definitely not great but it is what it is.. work was very busy today so didn't have much chance to do any turking.
nah. i work remote. most of my job is spent monitoring data center things so i always have that up on one monitor and turk on another. some days, like today, my team and i get slammed with server work and we don't hardly even have time to talk to each other.do you ever worry that you'll get caught turking?

sorta. we don't actually have a NOC though we're trying to put one in place early next year. I do application operations so while it's similar in a lot of cases to what a NOC would be responsible for, we're also writing code for system-wide software deployments, building out servers, moving databases and such. we're trying to separate out a lot of the monitoring duties because our team is pretty small (18) and we're responsible for maintaining a dozen different products and over 30K databases. luckily it's not as bad as it seems. most days are pretty quiet.network operations center?
