I live in Southern California and have a full-on brick fireplace (with chimney) in my living room. Since the house is old, I imagine the builders didn't know about climate change when they felt the need to add a fireplace.

We have 2 gas fireplaces and an outdoor fire pit. I'd trade all of it for air conditioning.
