It depends greatly on the breed. Some breeds produce musk and oils to protect their coat etc.

They can be taught not to jump on people... and litter boxes make the whole house smell like ass. Obviously... you can clean the litter box and get rid of that smell, until they use it again later that day. When you wash your dog it doesn't stink for a week or so.

Not if you get a good cat litter. And my MIL has a dog that refuses to go outside (Poops and pees all over the living room rug when she isn't home even if I take it outside 4+ times per day).
