Got an e-mail back from Richard Wirth about the video game survey within 5 minutes. I wonder how many of those e-mails he has been sending out today. He apologized quite sincerely and stated he didn't realize that a mass rejection would negatively impact our ratings. Stated he's working with mTurk support to fix the issue.

I don't think his response was entirely appropriate. It feels odd that he felt the need to call us all bots if this were truly the reason he was rejecting. But at least he's trying to reverse it.

Yea, I think the bot thing seemed to piss people off the most.

Speaking of rejections, anyone here back from Alyssa about that $2.50 hit last night that was instantly rejected?

No, I have sent a second email today, will probably send an email every other day until I get a response, or until she can no longer reverse. I'm not overly hopeful that we'll get that one reversed though, no IRB, and the survey wasn't obviously affiliated with anyone, was a risky hit.

normally I'd agree. but this guy accusing people of being bots and in the response emails he's claiming it to be a time issue?! and no mention of bots. Something doesnt add up and it sucks. But if you accuse people of stuff. they probably wont be nice back.. some of them atleast.

Hey, I've actually been to Nowhere, Oklahoma! Howdy, fellow Okie. (I'm in OKC.)

And howdy to everyone else. Trying to get some turking in today because it's the only day I have where I'm not cleaning (one of my non-turk otherjobs), holiday planning, or running around trying to get things ready for my oldest kiddo's birthday party this weekend. Super hyped-up on coffee and the internal freakout that comes with realizing that I will have a 16 year old daughter as of Sunday, and hoping that it turns out to be a decent money day. Even with the accusation I don't understand why people send angry emails...it's much easier to be calm, rational, and explain your situation to them, I wish more would do it, I think you'd find more requesters willing to work with you if you are polite. The ones who send the angry emails hurt the rest of us who don't, imo.

Haha, I'm actually in Altus temporarily. I live in Oregon but we are here until just before Christmas. We did spend last weekend in OKC in Bricktown and loved it! It definitely surprised me how fun OKC is! And good luck to you

Yea I kind of have a standard polite, PC email that I send and just copy paste it and tweek the details if I need to. You can stab the voodoo doll all you want later but if you want something done it's easier to just be nice about it.
