Watch out for this guy. Reports of rejections, past and present. Lots of talk on Hub about rejects for odd reasons......and he has changed his name, too.

So, I'm getting that some of y'all have figured out how NOT to get rejections---don't do anything to be rejected. I might test this technique myself. (Not that I've been ejected lately..on Mturk, that is).
I am learning as well. If the requester is red in MTurk Suite then the hairs go up on the back of my neck. If the HIT or survey looks at all off, like the grammar is bad or the HIT just seems weird, I am doubly suspicious. If the pictures don't load, or the HIT is malformed in some way, I just return it. I'd rather not make the $.05 than get a reject.

You must have very fast internet speed, I'm up to 600 points, slow and steady I guess. :)
I'm on a crappy DSL connection. Maybe it's fast because I have a routine :)

that feeling you get...
when you just finished a $3.50 survey and submitted it....
and just assumed it was solid, since a somewhat solid person referred it on forum, HIT looks doable...
and then you finish that 30 minutes
and read the TO
the bloody TO
the REJECTED TO....

{next time... read the TO first}

I sometimes pre emptively write requesters in situations like this, state facts, show them their TO page link, and ask if there's any thing I can offer to help with the submission, extra work necessary.... essentially say I will do whatever is reasonable and then some... then I get that approval and run for the hills (see you later bucko, I did my part)

I also make sure to emphasize it's being talked about by other workers, and we are taking notes. Public opinion and rep occasionally motivates requesters. Although obviously if this guy can bloody 15+ people's work here bad enough, that they all took the time to write TO about what he did?

Yeah, let's hope we get out of this without a rejection. And we'll survive, either way. At least we aren't alone in the process!

Yep, 1st reject in a while and first I've received in over a year on a survey. "You did not complete properly task 3 /count letters/" I should have known better when I saw those pictures in the beginning. I've returned his HITs before.
Requester was blocked.

In general I read the reviews on every HIT $1.50 and above.
Only takes a couple seconds to do and saves a lot of frustration.

Just because I do them, doesn't mean everyone has to. Not something to fret over yet. It could approve just fine. Unless that's your thing.

Yay boats! I'm not worried, personally. If I get one, whelp it's been so long that I'm probably due. And, if you really look at the TO and TV only about 4 of the reviews are pertaining to this project. Of the most recent reviews, 3 of 4 were approved.

Bottom line, everyone has a different risk tolerance. Always do your own research, if you are worried. It does state right in HIT info that I posted that it has a fairness of 1.87 over the life of the account, without even going so far as to look at TO. I post the HITs that I do so that people can see what I'm doing but, what I'm doing may not always be the right thing for you to be doing, especially if one rejection is going to ruin things.

I read TO before I post HITs, yet sometimes just accept if I have some trust for the poster here who's linking. I don't want to inadvertently set up fellow Mturkers for rejects, because I'm posting and vouching for a referred HIT by implication/inference.

We all take responsibility though, for our actions. And I also get to question my assumptions again, that just because a regular posted the HIT, and it's good money, doesn't mean it's safe. It's my job to do, safe MTurk.

I presently average 1 reject per 8000+ Mturk HITs approved so... not worried on stats

Thanks you all for sorting this one out, talking to each other here helped
