It's a POS $250 HP laptop that I bought 8 months ago to turk from Walmart.

I upgraded from a 512mb RAM machine about 2 years ago and the difference was staggering. My current system is almost identical to yours. Only difference is I have an Intel Processor and it's a Desktop. I find Desktops are always slightly faster than laptops of the same specs, but I could just be biased about it. I think if you upgraded to something with a faster processor you'd definitely notice a loading speed change, not sure if it'd be significant though.

Or like the my former work-horse requester who posted every weekday for 2 years and then stopped, making me have to learn to turk all over again. It was rough.

That sucks too. Can't really depend on any of them to stick around forever as much as we want them too!

Edit: And that is one of the hardest things about turking: not ever having truly consistent work. Have to always find new quals etc.
