Nah, I live down the shore and have friends who literally have it weekly. Most of them still live with their parents. In my house, we had it at least once a month, but we're Irish and not Italian.

That's interesting, around by us it was ofc gravy every Sunday, but lasagna was more of a treat

Well also I'd say that most of the folks that went "down the shore" from Brooklyn sort of left a lot of that tradition behind them. Sunday gravy happens around here, but not all that much (mostly in the expensive pastarias and the like) so it could be a dumbing down of culture!

I request a study on the simplification of Italian cuisine in Italians who have moved down the shore!
