@bxpretzel So you asked how I wound up in this frigging town.
I was "living" in San Diego. I lost a series of jobs (the companies closed), there was a family death or two, I had to give up two apartments in a row because they were converted to condos. I had to give up my 2,000+ book collection that I'd amassed over the course of my life. At that point I was "homeless" ... and all that shit and more sent me into a deep clinical depression (doctor diagnosed). I had a job at an AM/PM that I
hated and then I also started suffering from anxiety attacks about work.
My best friend visits me one day at the AM/PM and tells me, "You're got to get out of the city." I was fairly desperate at that point and agreed with him.
Best friend contacts a girlfriend of mine from the mid '70s who says, "Come to Desert Center (her family
owns most of Desert Center) and 'll find somewhere for you to live and I'll help you find a job.)

So, that's how I got here, only to find out that my clinical depression is, in fact, "Summer-onset Seasonal Affective Disorder," which mean that summers and/or significant heat can bring on my depression.
And
that is the end of the story. -30-
...
But right now I'm concerned about
@micky and the fires near her.
