yeah We used to have one here but it's on main street, which pretty much only tourists shop on and it was insanely expensive so i never bought anything from there. Except they also had super old/rare books upstairs and I did get an authentic nazi handbook with notes in German in the margins. that was pretty nifty.

Oh dang, yeah I would probably order online in that case. The bookstore here is no more than 20 minutes from me, kind of live in a suburb....but I'll eventually be in your position haha, we want to move off grid

that's cool I really wish there was a Half-Price Books near me. I've been to 2 different locations and it's basically my heaven on earth.

I was once in your position. I used to haunt the Friends of the Library. Since Kindle came out I haven't looked back.

what's Friends of the Library? and man, I wish I could read ebooks. I used to have a Kindle but for some reason i can't absorb anything I read in ebook format. I'll be super into it while reading, then I'll go do something else and have 0 idea what I had been reading. It's super inconvenient

IF you have friends with a good kindle library you guys can create a family account on Amazon and share books.
It what me and my friend did. He's buying all the sword of truth books and he's reading all the Malazan books I bought lol

it sucks so bad! The only place I can get books in my town is Goodwill or a church-run thrift store. The thrift store is my favorite because I've gotten almost the entire Outlander series for a quarter apiece, and the bindings hadn't even been broken in yet!

what's Friends of the Library?

Most libraries have either an area where they sell old books or a quarterly or seasonal sale of old books and donations they get. Usually the organization in charge of it is called friends of the library. At my old library, if you paid I think $5 for an annual membership, you could go into the sale the day before everyone else. I would come out with boxes full of books. There would be people loading up carts, it was crazy.
