That sounds so YUMMY! I love leeks but I can't even stand the smell of them at least half of the year. We forage/harvest literally tons of leeks every spring, so they are just ruined for me for a while after that.
Edited to add: duh, to answer your question, we had chicken and dumplings. lol

I'm so jealous.

The rewards are nice, but its WORK. Lots of driving (our main buyer is 4ish hours away) and lots of hiking through the woods, dragging full totes of leeks back to the vehicle, etc. They make us decent money per pound, mushrooms are better though.

I've always wanted to forage for mushrooms! I took a class on it once, which taught me that I do not have nearly enough skill in identifying mushrooms to forage without poisoning myself...

when we lived in Michigan we had a few great spots for mushrooms, but since we moved to Pa we have not found any yet. Maybe next year.
