Are they young enough to have grown up with internet access?

Yeah they're from Vietnam and never came across internet until they came here. They wouldn't know what to do with it. Was fun listening to my wife try to explain how to use Google the one time they tried to use a computer. "See the little arrow on the screen? Yeah if you move the thing with the two buttons it moves that arrow." They didn't get to the part where you type into the search bar.

Well, grandchildren have a way of speeding up the learning curve - grandparents all want pictures - as soon as possible.

I grew up in the ‘new stone age’ - we had TV (well, most of us) and electricity and party-lines and phones with cords and no answering machines and all research required a library, typewriters, etc. and I can tell you that I WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO THAT, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER!

speaking of phones and "party lines", there were also 1-900 lines where people would pay per minute to conference call with others. i was shocked the other day to see an ad for a 900 line from that one company who supposedly brings singles together to voice chat on a 900 line. i thought all that would have moved to the internet now and 900 lines die off.
