Guys, does most good batches involve transcription? Because I really don't like transcription tasks. If not, what are the usual tasks involved with good batches?

I know you've had trouble but, when I enter my ID, I also message, which I'm sure you do, but, I also take a screenshot and tell them that I can provide them with that proof, if it helps facilitate my request. I feel like they don't know that AMT won't stand up for you and feel like they assume that with that proof, I could have it overturned anyway. That last bit is all assumption but, I've never gotten a rejection from a nocode using that method. YMMV.:)

I've also been bonused because a guy had no idea his study was borked. That doesn't happen often though.

I was just doing Choose the Best Group A9's and thought about all the times a website made crazy nonsensical alternate suggestions for things and I realized who was to blame.

I use Gyazo, its a quick screenshot tool basically. When that happens i screenshot the page where the code was supposed to be. In the code field i type There was no code, proof: gyazolink workerid: yourid they always approve

Same but, I just use the built in snipping tool in Windows. Anything works though.

The screen shot is a good idea as proof. I worked in higher ed so I know the caliber of some of the grad students who are likely tasked with figuring out this survey software (for better or worse). The researcher gets all the data but probably also has to deal with all the grief. And you're right - AMT doesn't give a whit either way, because Jeff already got his slice.

For no-code situations I usually message with the URL from the final page. *Frequently* the code is in the URL though, often it has my ID and a study code and a third code in the URL, usually something like "c=(string of letters and numbers)" at the end.

I really think that a lot of times, they test the study in house. Get as many people on campus to do it for cash(who don't need a code as they just do it in Qualtrics or Surveymonkey). I think the last thing that gets integrated is the random code generator and, it rarely gets tested locally before it goes live on Mturk. I think that's why it happens. I'll usually send my screenshot to the requester email from the consent or instructions so they can see that they messed up.:p They respond quicker to their school email address.
