The platform is just really difficult to adjust to, especially if you depend on it for all your income like you and I do. I know I have also complained a lot about it myself, but I find it really difficult to get out of the mentality of "mturk sucks" when it's literally the only thing workers are saying, including long term workers.

I think one of the things I have to work on is not letting other people's mentalities affect me. If I literally log in to the forums and other places and immediately see "so fucking dead today" "hasn't been this dead in weeks/monthsyears" it just sets me up for failure, even if something good does post later. I can't really control other people saying that shit but I can control how I react to it. I wish blocking features were a little more sophisticated so I wouldn't even have to see messages containing stuff like that, and when I've brought it up to people before it's usually not an understanding conversation, so it's just kind of something I have to figure out for myself.

Dead days are already difficult by default because of the lack of work, negative attitude only makes it even worse to get anything done

the platform can definitely be a pain. I’m not denying that. work was more abundant in years past. not denying that either. it’s just I don’t know. there’s still money out there. is it a pain to scrape it all. definitely can be. especially during December.

it’s like yesterday a lot of people in the daily thread were complaining about how dead it was and it was one of the best days I’ve had in at least a month. mainly due to 2 batches (that I posted what they were when I posted my pe). 1 that reposted again last night after I said what it was.

and yeah sometimes days do suck. sometimes they suck hard. especially during the Holiday season.

I just feel like complaining can get contagious. and it sets a wrong mood. it sets a mood that can linger.

yeah turking can absolutely suck. I’m not denying that either. but as long as I’m doing this I’m going to try and at least be as positive as I can about it. which isn’t always easy, but it is what it is?

which I also understand needing a watercooler place to vent, which is what the daily is i guess, but when it's every day it sets the wrong mood for not just other people but yourself, so yeah i agree w/ u
