I'm really not understanding you.
you get a rejection on task #1
they make makeup hit #2 $0.00

you do makeup hit #2
you get paid $0, and keep the rejection from hit #1

what does the makeup hit accomplish? I'm honestly lost here.

if they reverse the original rejection, you get paid for the first task
a make up hit is for when you don't/can't submit a task.

if a task has been rejected, you have submitted it. it can then [usually, apparently] be reversed.
regardless of being a rejection or a paid status, you can receive a bonus payment through that task.

Basically, and I've had this happen with requesters before, they would setup a zero value makeup HIT. Normally this is only done if there was some sort of error, or accidental submission, with a HIT that's done inside of the browser instead of through an outside link like a survey.

After completing the makeup HIT, they would then reverse the rejection on the original HIT in order to pay for the work.

Yes you need a dummy hit set up and they will overturn the rejection.
Both the threads linked should give you all of the information you need to help the requester out.

that's really shady.

for them it's only a few pennies to say they messed up and reverse a rejection on a hit that I cannot see how you'd mess it up.
for you, it's a LOT of wasted time and effort, obviously with a goal of saving your hit approval %

I think I've seen people talk of doing other language ones even tho they don't speak it.... I just couldn't even attempt those ones cuz I get daydreaming about what the character looks like etc etc haha

iirc at least 3 people here speak at least 1 asian language. can't remember who or which languages though. I doubt the penny hits would be worth it.

It's Japanese, not Chinese. Not that it makes a lot of difference to me since I don't speak either. Plus, it's crap pay for someone who needs to be bilingual.

I'm using Hit Finder beta from MTurk Suite. You can set the "Find Site" option to scrape the new site, but hits still open on the old site. I think @Kadauchi is working on the update.

Yes. The update will not be a transitional update either, it will be a full swap over to Worker. Its probably gonna come the 12th/13th so issues can be ironed out before the 15th.

yea, when I do foreign language tasks, just translating them can make the time not worth the effort.
so I stick just to english and spanish, but only spanish if I don't have to write it out
